A letter from PFLAG Buffalo/Niagara to the people of Orlando
The news of the senseless, horrific tragedy of June 12, 2016 is numbing and heartbreaking. Our hearts ache for you, your families and you communities. PFLAG Buffalo-Niagara and the Buffalo community are thinking of you and send our sincerest condolences and endless thoughts of love, strength, and healing to each of you. Although we have never met you or your cherished loved ones, we feel a bond with you as parents, families, and friends of all those connected through our LGBTQ communities. We are at a loss to
Phil Salemi, Jr. President of PFLAG Buffalo/Niagara wrote the above letter to the people of Orlanda, and it is part of The Loop magazines issue of support that is being delivered to Orlando. It is also available in Buffalo as usual
Anti-Bullying Month PFLAG
@ Buffalo Public Library
PFLAG Buffalo/Niagara is a nonprofit organization that aims to provide support for the families and allies of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals, and LGBT individuals themselves; education for ourselves and others about the unique issues and challenges facing people who are LGBT; and advocacy in our communities to change attitudes and create policies and laws that achieve full equality for LGBT people. We are a local chapter of PFLAG National, our parent organization, which envisions a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed inclusive of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
We operate locally in Western New York. PFLAG Buffalo/Niagara meets every third Sunday of the month at 2:30pm – 5:00pm* at the Kenilworth United Church of Christ.
We welcome new members, friends, family and allies of Buffalo’s LGBT community.
